I know you’ve heard of a guy named Sir Richard Branson before…he’s best know for being the owner of Virgin Records, Virgin Atlantic Airways and over 360 “Virgin” brand companies worldwide. He’s also considered to be one the 261st richest people in the world, with an estimated networth of approximately $2.5 billion.
This guy is a person who doesn’t always follow conventional wisdom, he creates his own rules, and sometimes he screws up and takes two steps backwards. But, because he’s willing to think outside the box, when he’s successful, he’s amazingly successful!
That got me thinking about what if a high powered, very successful businessman was in charge of getting your body into tip, top shape, not for a week…not for a month…but for a lifetime. What would be different? What changes would be made immediately without even a thought of an excuse?
Here are some of the changes I think would be happening ASAP:
100% OR NOTHING!!! Set lofty goals and try to rise above them. The worst thing in the world for you would be to set small achievable goals and be happy with it. This ideal wouldn’t make for a successful and profitable business and it won’t produce a trim, firm body either.
If you target is to lose a few pounds or just to even fit into those pants that have been hanging in your closet for months collecting dust, do whatever it takes to get there.
In order to be successful in anything, you have to overcome obstacles. Inactivity and indecision are two of the biggest. Success won’t come to you; you have to take action EVERY DAY.
At the end of a hot, hard day of work, don’t just go home and plant yourself in front of a TV with some snacks and a beer. Get your butt to the gym! You still have work to do.
BETTER TIME MANAGEMENT!!! Just like any profitable business, everything isn’t done by just one person. There are just not enough hours in the day to be able to learn everything or do everything by yourself.
Leveraging your time and energy towards things that will make you successful is the key. By understanding what is available to you, will help you reach your goals the fastest.
Do not think that by just having a membership to a gym will make that muffin top you have around your waist turn into a six pack. Neither will spending a minimum of three hours a week doing an exercise program meant for a bodybuilder who eats, sleeps and breathes fitness.
You need to stop and be honest with yourself. If you have trouble spots that just won’t go away…are frustrated with all the trials and errors that go along with selecting different “magazine” workouts week after week…have lost the motivation and the drive to work hard, it’s time you start working out smarter and not harder.
If a successful businessman was running your body, they would seek help from professionals to get the goals they were after. That businessman would also be willing to do what’s “hard” even though it might be challenging at first.
How can you manage your time better?
There are so many steps you can take if you allow yourself to be prepared to SEIZE every opportunity to change your life.
Join a boot camp, fitness camp or small group exercise program.
These are inexpensive and efficient ways to maximum your potential without depeleting your wallet of all your hard earned cash. You’ll get professional instruction, motivation and encouragement to never give up on yourself again. AND you’ll also eliminate all the guesswork that you’ve been doing too.
Get a piece of paper and pen RIGHT NOW.
Write down a list of ways you can do what Richard Branson (or any successful businessman) would do to be successful.
Write down how YOU can think outside of your own “box” to start seeing your fitness successes.
Keep reaching for the stars and you’ll be surprised at how far you can actually go.
