We’re Not Dead! We’ve Just Moved

I am here to inform you of some very sad, yet very exciting and important news.

As you have probably noticed, if you were a regular reader of Fit Over 40, there haven’t been many posts in a number of months. A series of changes have taken place…no I didn’t grow any new hair (I WISH!!!) This has caused us to focus on expanding our capabilities.

After almost two years of blogging, we have just simply outgrown our old site.  So we stepped away from the keyboard, packed our stuff and successfully decided to make a move.

No worries, it’s the same blog — just new and improved. The new location offers much more room for expansion  as we continue to grow. The only things that have changed are our new name and our new address.

I looked at my calendar the other day and I noticed something very strange.  calendar

I didn’t have anything on it.  No training sessions, no meetings, no appointments, no projects…not a single thing.  This wasn’t by accident; this was all planned out well in advance.

What about you?

How many times have you dreaded the day when you had to fit something else into your over-inflated schedule?  How many appointments have you double booked? How many moments have you actually taken just for YOU?

There comes a time in everyone’s life where you have to put yourself first.  Sure everyone has responsibilities that have to be met.  Sure there are family obligations that can’t be overlooked. Sure there are projects that needed to be done yesterday.

But if you aren’t looking out for your own well being, then all those things aren’t going to happen anyway.

“He who does not get fun and enjoyment out of every day . . . needs to reorganize his life.” – George Matthew Adams

When you start building an interest in you…your health…and your physical and mental well being, you’re going to see some major changes. You might not have a lot of time right now, but if you keep waiting until “tomorrow” you’ll never see it happen.  Live for today and have it be all about you.

The question that every person who is looking for a healthier lifestyle has to ask themselves is that after all is said and done,  has a lot more been said than actually done? Your life has no dress rehearsals.  Bad habits are very easy to get into and even harder to get out of. .Make it a good habit of clearing your calendar to have the performance of your life!

Being in and around the fitness industry for over two decades, I’ve come across an extreme number of individuals who “work out” on a regular basis.

I’ve put “work out” in quotes because even though they are physically at the gym pushing weights around, that doesn’t necessarily mean they are “working out”.  More than likely they don’t have a clue! These people; and I bet you could identify a few in your facilities; are just taking up space and preventing people who legitimately know what it means to aim for a goal and work at it.

I’d like to pass on some of the “Do’s and Don’ts that I have learned over the years. (more…)
